About Mrs. Edwards

Mrs. Angela Edwards graduated from East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas, in 1992, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She obtained a Masters of Education in Educational Administration from East Texas State University in 1995. 

 Mrs. Edwards began her career in education with the North Hopkins ISD before joining the Sulphur Springs faculty in 1996. Mrs. Edwards taught sixteen years in the classroom, teaching first through fourth grades. She has also served as the TEEM (Texas Early Education Model) Grant Coordinator for Sulphur Springs ISD, serving as a mentor/liaison in early childhood with SSISD, Cumby ISD, Como-Pickton CISD, and local daycare facilities. She has served as the Literacy Support/RtI Facilitator on the Early Childhood Learning Center campus as well as the Academic Specialist on the campuses of Early Childhood Learning Center, Bowie Primary, Lamar Primary, and Travis Primary from 2013-2016. Mrs. Edwards began her first year as a campus principal at Bowie Primary in August of 2016. With the restructure of the elementary campuses in SSISD, Mrs. Edwards became the Principal of the Douglass ECLC campus in the Fall of 2018, and assumed the role of Head Start Director after the retirement of Hillary Young in December 2019.
