News from Sulphur Springs Middle School!
Students in the Sulphur Springs Independent School District have been actively learning using an online program called Immersive Adaptive Learning, better known to students and teachers as IXL. This program is available to students both in the classroom and at home through devices including Computers, iPads, and many cellular phones. Fifty-five Sulphur Springs Middle School students accepted a challenge from their teacher, to work extra-hard and attempt to get 100 on each assignment they were given. The questions get progressively more difficult the higher your score gets, and it takes a strong work-ethic to push through and get the 100! For each 100 on an IXL math assignment, students earned a paper bracelet. The challenge was to get as many 100’s as they could in hopes of earning enough bracelets to make it around the entire SSMS school building. Wednesday morning, May 23rd, they made their GOAL!
The mission of the Sulphur Springs Independent School District is to provide students with the skills that will prepare them to adapt and excel in a fast-changing world, enabling them to lead productive lives. The district shares with parents and the community the responsibility of promoting high standards and expectations as we provide opportunities for all students within our diverse community to attain personal growth and to become lifelong learners.
